What’s A Trailbird?

trailbird

/trālˌbərd/

noun

  • A person who spends more time on trails than not; a habitual hiker and wanderer

Basically a trailbird is a kind of like a jailbird; but instead of not being able to keep ourselves out of jail (we promise we're law-abiding citizens), we just can't seem to keep ourselves off of any and every trail. More often than not this means hiking, backpacking, and trail running, but we consider road tripping and traveling to be "trails" as well. We do this stuff as often as we can manage.

We started this blog as a way to catalog our stories and perspectives from all our outdoor adventures, whether they be road trips, long distance hikes, or international travel. As of August 2020, we are married and both super excited about what's ahead.

Together we hiked the John Muir Trail in 2019 and we've both spent a ton of time backpacking, hiking, and traveling. We're excited to use this experience to provide a good resource for tips and advice, as well as for stories and inspiration.
